A fast growing bamboo, its growth form is a little broader than a textilis.  It has fairly small leaves and can be used as a stand alone ornamental.  It is also very effective as a very large hedge or privacy screen.  This bamboo can tolerate a salty sea breeze better than most.  (see other bamboo plants for privacy screening)
