Bambusa chungii is a  rare bamboo from Southern China, the culms develop a powder-like waxy “bloom” which give them an elegant, soft blue color.  This is a medium tight clumper and requires a little more room in the garden than some of the tight clumpers.  This is one of our favorites.  (see other ornamental bamboo plants)
